Prof. Dr. Hridaya Ratna Bajracharya is the Vice Chancellor of the University.
LBU has also envisioned “Awareness Program" with the slogan “Do Good, Be Good" in order to educate citizens throughout the nation focusing on morality, meditation, wisdom, and peace which would be instrumental in building good governance and peaceful Nation.
In these academic journeys, Lumbini Buddhist University (LBU) has gone through tremendous bends. At this junction, LBU has made significant progress by expanding length and breadth of its academic programs and accelerated the pace of infrastructure development since the last couple of years.
It is a matter of immense pleasure for us at LBU that it has not only completed the Master Plan but started implementing some of the parts on a priority base. New academic courses are being introduced such as one-year certificate level courses in Sanskrit, Pali, and Tibetan languages and a four-year Bachelor level course in Buddhism, Travel and Tourism Management (BBTTM) from academic year 2074/75 BS. Similarly, in the first phase of infrastructure development, seven residential quarters are being constructed which includes three residential quarters for university authorities, two for teachers, and two for staff. These buildings are expected to be operational by next year Hence the minimum physical infrastructure would be fulfilled.
No need to say that studying Buddhism in Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha would be vibrant and magnificent. So now it is high time to introduce an International Buddhist College (IBC) which draws attraction to the international students. Conducive environments in terms of academic courses, human resources, management, infrastructure, etc. are taking in place to facilitate international students at LBU.
Apart from the degree-oriented courses, LBU has also envisioned “Awareness Program" with the slogan “Do Good, Be Good" in order to educate citizens throughout the nation focusing on morality, meditation, wisdom, and peace which would be instrumental in building good governance and peaceful Nation.
From the very beginning, LBU has been funded by the Government of Nepal as a National University. In the midst of political stability in progress, the country is going to have a federal form of governments in Central and Provincial level in near future. LBU being Buddhist University located in Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, its national and international significance as envisioned in its vision and mission sought the greater role to play in propagating the teachings of the Buddha across the globe through academic activities. Hence, we at LBU firmly believe that the LBU will continue in gaining support as National University under the Central Government of Federal Republic of Nepal.
